Captain Miles Dixon
Captain Miles Dixon was born and raised in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, but his heart and mind have always been on the coast, particularly, Grand Isle and Fourchon. His great-grandfather built a camp on the extreme west end of the island overlooking the pass where it remains today. Since birth Miles has spent every possible weekend down on the island. He grew up chasing trout and reds on all the outer islands in the summer and deep in the marsh in the winter. Miles loved inshore fishing but he always found himself looking south. He would go down to the docks as a young boy waiting for offshore boats to come in. Wide-eyed he watched as folks gathered around to see these monster fish hit the dock. He wanted in and he wanted in bad. Miles knew what he had to do, he politely aggravated a Captain enough to finally let him deckhand! He offered to work for free in exchange for knowledge and with enough pestering got his first trip. Miles would never be the same, he was hooked! He went on to fish for multiple excellent guides from Fourchon, Grand Isle, and Venice learning from each of them. He went on to get his Captain’s license and continued to work for many exceptional guides as he honed his skills. Miles has an incredible energy and passion about him while on the water and it will rub off on you. Don’t be surprised if Miles is just as fired up as you when you land that fish of a lifetime. A trip with Miles is one you won’t soon forget.
